How odd. To be grateful for a power outage on what’s shaping up to be the coldest night (thus far) of the fall. Yet, grateful I am, and here’s why:
- It’s forcing us away from the computer where it’s all too easy to sit side-by-side yet lose ourselves in our separate worlds.
- It’s creating a shared sense of adventure, of coping with an “event,” of camaraderie.
- It’s facilitating a normal bedtime — and holds out the promise of what the doctor always recommends: an 8-hour sleep cycle.
- It’s a reminder to not take anything for granted, and to always seek the gratitude.
And that? Well, it’s something to be grateful for. Plus, the power was only out for about an hour…
