What do you see? Mineral deposits incorporated into a polished stone? Or perhaps a far-off echo of Wyoming’s Devil’s Tower, viewed across miles of terrain marked by red cliffs and greenery, and sand? I’m so very grateful for nature’s paintbrush — in this case dipped in iron and manganese and incorporated into a sedimentary rock known as Jasper. It’s Indian Paint Stone, or Navajo Blanket Stone, or Death Valley Picture Rock (this one came from Death Valley, California). Isn’t nature amazing?
